Re: Version 0x40 Firmware and Manual update

Hello,
thank you for this wonderfull piece of hardware. I like the UPS and RTC functionalites alot.

Now I try to schedule the on/off of my Pi. But I failed with firmware versions 0x32, 0x38 and 0xf6. Allways with the information from the corresponding manual.

I just want to switch on for several hours each day. Is it possible with any firmware? Would you publish a script or a more detailed manual?

HW-configuration:
UPS PIco HV3.0A 450mAh Stack
RasPi 3
soldered gold-plated pin

Maybe the PIco has a HW-failure... I also have sometimes problems to start with the F-Button. But shutdown via F-Button is always working.

What I got:
in 0x32 and 0x38 the HOT LED start blinking after activating the scheduler. Usually HOT-LED went of when PI is shutdown, UPS-LED is contious on. Only once it stayed on. But the PI never started triggered by scheduler. I also tried to set the schedule as UTC or in my local time... not sure what is correct.

I guess some of the problem is because it is not possible to write to 0x6d and/or 0x6f?

Thank you for any support, best regards

hey icarus,
it's not gonna work - scheduling.
I'm waiting on the same thing since months.
it was promised in the "beta" version at the top of this thread, but it doesn't work.
it was advertised 3-years ago (you can see the advertisement in the box account folder also mentioned in the top of this thread).
it's not coming. I think they have given up.

Is this the latest firmware? Is it still in a beta testing mode please?

Normally i respect forum rules at not being offtopic but at this stage i agree with my predecessor forum posters.
I kept my mouth for a long time but this is ridiculous, despite all promises made here and over PM for over 9 months still nothing.
Just one release in which they say it was posted due to a overload of crying users.
But in fact it was just release to keep the pressure off and hope we stop crying, didn't work right.

I can imagine a 1 or 2 months delay due to the fact you are with just a few coworkers but 9 months is to long.
At the beginning the bugs weren't that much which you should fix and which shouldn't take that long to be released in a new version.
But i think your pace into releasing new features and previous bugs not fixed didn't do any good.
Also the fact that factory problems and delivery issues shouldn't affect a fixed firmware release.

At this stage my PIco boards are over their warranty and i can't reclaim my money because the lack of support and non functional boards.
It's really ridiculous how this is handled and answered by the devs.
Although they did work on new products i wouldn't advice to buy it and i personally will not.
Same promise, release and shit talk is seen on the previous boards.
I gave up my hope...

Really guys, although your with a few coworkers, you really should pay more attention to your buyers.
And you should fix bugs first before putting in more untested features.
At this rate you can't run a business.
As mentioned many months ago you should work with a beta program.
Where new features and possible bug fixes are tested with skilled users before putting them into a release version.
This way you keep the release version save from bugs and you are sure new features are tested over a wide sorted system setups.

Meanwhile i ran my boards with firmware 32 for many months as it was more reliable then later releases.
Still it has some bugs but i could use them.
But for daily usage i can't trust on it's reliability.
At the beginning it started like a good adventure but it ended in a nightmare.

Soon i will head over to the RPI3 B+ but can tell you guys i won't supply it with a PIco board as i don't trust it anymore.
And please don't answer with "Soon we fix it" or "Soon we release a new version"
This is something we heard for the past 9 months and we all know SOON is NEVER.

Best regards from a very unhappy user who should saved his money...
