Cool! What are the new features/bugs fixed? I'm running 1.096 beta without any problems - should I still upgrade?

Hi,

The actual version is covering most of old and some new requested issues. However there is a new version 2.0, going to be release just after Christmas holidays. It will closing hopefully all open issues and will contain also new updated manual.

Hi

Ah, a new release date was announced - one wonders whether it will be xmas 2014 or xmas 2015. My B+ projekt is still on hold and it probably will be for some time...

Hi,

The UPiS can be used with the B+, but mechanically much better fit-in the UPS PIco as it is also HAT compliant.
Saying simple, the UPiS has been adopted to the B+, as the PIco has been designed for the B+.

Anyhow we are talking about THIS Christmas ;-) and it is still the same date, as I explained about 10 days - 2 weeks.

Hi,

As the matter with the B+ is mainly the current thresholds, however need to make a very detailed testing before we release it, so this is one of the reason of delays, you can easy "simulate" the B on the B+ (for the UPiS recognition) by increasing the current drawing of the B+ by 100 mA, i.e. by adding a resistor parallel on the powering. It is not an elegant solution, but give you opportunity to set up your design on the B+, until the final version covering both versions will be released. Just a quick and dirty example.

Hi. Like juiba, i'm curious too! What are the new features? Because we are all waiting for something and we don't know exactly what !
For my professional project (ADSB in Brasilia airport), my dead line is 28th of December. I just need a failsafe stop when main power is missing (or too low as it's a 12v solar panel) and start the RPi 30mn after power coming back. 1.1A (with UPiS). Easy?

Would it be possible to do this with the new firmware?

For nos, I just bought a simple UPS board and with an old good NE555 and a relay, I solved my problem. Do not have a very professional visual but it's working.

Thanks.

Hi,

All mentioned until today improvements requested by the various customers (also in this forum), as also all mentioned in the manual road map will be released in one new firmware version 2.0. After a few day, a new manual will follows. If you have any extra requirement, just declare it NOW, so we will implemented it in this ongoing version.

Possible Bug?

Postby Graham S » Sat Dec 27, 2014 7:22 pm

I've noticed that if a file safe shutdown (fssd) is initiated due to loss of ERP power and then power is restored before this shutdown completes, then the UPiS doesn't cut power the Pi which in turn doesn't boot.

Can I suggest that file safe shutdown cuts power to the pi for a few seconds no matter what the power input state is. This way the UPiS will restart the Pi even if power is restored during a fssd. Maybe this is the purpose of the EPR hysteresis PiCo register?
