[Solved] How to upgrade firmware properly

Postby Ericv » Thu Mar 30, 2017 6:55 pm

Due to problems with HV3.0 firmware upgrading i decided to start from scratch.

My current sytem is Pi3 (4.4 kernel) + Pico HV3 (0x24).

I have the Pico ups running again.

But checking the status returns this:

Code: Select all
***********************************
UPS PIco HV3.0A Status
***********************************

UPS PIco Firmware.....: 24
UPS PIco Bootloader...: 50
UPS PIco PCB Version..: 41
UPS PIco BAT Version..: LiPO (ASCII: P)
UPS PIco BAT Runtime..: 108 MIN
UPS PIco r232 State...: ERROR

Powering Mode.........: RPi POWERED
BAT Percentage........: 100.0 %
BAT Voltage...........: 4.15 V
RPi Voltage...........: 5.55 V
NTC1 Temperature......: 23 C
TO-92 Temperature.....: 03 C
Extended Voltage......: 0.0 V
A/D2 Voltage..........: 0.0 V

PIco FAN Mode.........: DISABLED
PIco FAN State........: OFF
PIco FAN Speed........: 0.0 RPM

***********************************
Powered by PiCo
***********************************

What does the 'error' at r232 state mean? And what to do about it before i continue with trying to update the Pico firmware.

Thanks for help and suggestions

[*]Edit

Problem is solved. The pico_status.py script that came with the installation was not suited for the 0x24 firmware. I used the revised version 5 of the script and all wnt well.
