How to restart UPS pico HV1.0 triggered by Raspi

Postby Jannis » Thu Feb 09, 2017 5:58 pm

My UPS pico attached to a Raspberry Pi B+ or Raspberry Pi 2 sometimes freezes. I want to reset it by using a GPIO pin. How can this be done? It does not respond to I2C or the GPIO pulse train.

It seems to be damaged totally. Even with manual restart or replacing the battery, there is no I2c communication possible.

Hi,
Try to upload the firmware again, and if not response we will replace it.

Uploading does not work. All LEDs except for CHG are on. I2C does not work, UPSR does not work, removing battery does not help, UPSR+KEYB does not help and UPSR followed by KEYA to prepare for firmware update does not work. Compared to the the other HV1.0 unit, this device was not used too often and not never under hot conditions like being in the car in summer.

On 19.07.15 or 01.08.15. I do not know if it was my first or second one. Both are HV1.0.

Ioanni,
It is much more than one year, near two. However I will send you new one HV3.0 Stack. I sent you today your case and Terminal Blocks. Bud luck.
Anyhow. In any case in next 1-2 day will delete this message due to forum rules.
Warmest Regards

Thank you. Just a few minutes ago, I recognized the battery of this PIco became thick to nearly two times of its original thickness. Maybe overcharged? Its only the small 300mAh battery.

I tested already with other fresh 450mAh batteries from the HV3.0. Always the same with all LEDs on.
